Blue Star Families & Wilderness Inquiry Collaboration Promotional Video
The production took place on location during a full day of events in Washington D.C., where military families participated in various outdoor activities organized by Blue Star Families and Wilderness Inquiry. Our team captured the vibrancy and excitement of the event through a combination of on-the-ground filming and interviews.
We conducted a dozen interviews with key participants, including military family members, event organizers, and representatives from both Blue Star Families and Wilderness Inquiry. These interviews provided powerful testimonials on the importance of these activities for the physical and mental well-being of military families.
In addition to the interviews, we filmed extensive B-roll footage that vividly captured the energy of the event, including scenes of outdoor activities, interactions among participants, and the overall atmosphere of community and support. This footage was instrumental in telling the story of how the federal grant was being effectively utilized.
The primary objective of the 3-minute promotional video was to demonstrate to Congress how the federal grant awarded to Blue Star Families was being put to good use, directly benefiting military families through outdoor engagement. The video aimed to showcase the successful collaboration between Blue Star Families and Wilderness Inquiry, highlighting the positive impact of the program on the military community.

Results
The final 3-minute video was presented to Congress as a compelling visual report on the grant’s effectiveness, serving as a testament to the positive outcomes of the partnership. Additionally, Buxton Media Productions created multiple social media content videos from the footage captured during the event. These shorter videos were designed to extend the reach of the main promotional video, engaging a broader audience across various platforms.
